NetGalley November 2021 TBR

Hi! Welcome back my friends, can you believe that it is already November? Not drinking any tea yet today 😦 but I will get some soon! Today I wanted to talk about a Readathon that I am participating in in November. Netgalley November, was created by Brianna from Four Paws and a Book on Youtube/Instagram, Christine from the Other Christine that Reads on Youtube, Margaret from the WordN3rd on Youtube, and Kathy Trithardt on Twitter. There is also another NetGalley November run by a group of UK Bloggers, both options are different so choose whichever you’d like! And the goal of the Readathon is to read NetGalley eARCs and get your NetGalley review ratio up!

Brianna created this Bingo board to use as a guide in your reading. Below is what I am planning on reading for each prompt. I hope you all are ready for lots of reviews!

The Oldest Book on your NetGalley TBR: Killian Unbound byRebecca York was published on October 8th, 2021. Which follows a princess and a enchanted mortal. Princess Sabina, is trying to escape a marriage to a ruthless prince when she is recaptured and thrown in the tower. She meets Killian the enchanted mortal, who she originally thought was a ghost, as they try to escape their fate.

A Highly Anticipated Book: So since I am fairly new to NetGalley I don’t have the experience to get a lot of the more common highly anticipated books. However, I read book one in this series a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to reading book 2. That book is Pandora’s Razor by Rat Strong, and comes out on December 17th, 2021. In book 1 we follow Meriel Hope, who is trying to get her parents’ ship and the rest of her orphaned sibling back together. However, do to political machinations that is more difficult than thought. Will they get their ship back, while Meriel is also fighting everyone thinking she is making up her siblings, because they were erased from the “police” report of the pirate attack that took her parents life.

A Debut Author: Half Blood by Alyssa Green was published October 19th, 2021. Is the debut Fantasy Romance book by Alyssa Green. And we will follow Half-Blood Samara as she seeks revenge for her families murders. She ends up feeling to a town and finds out the man who ordered her family’s murder is actually the mayor of the town. She also runs into an old childhood friend. While she is hiding her identity from the mayor, and falling in love with her old friend can she also get the revenge that she so badly desires.

An Author of Color: The Blood Trials by N. E. Davenport is set to be published April 5th, 2022. Follows a young Black Woman names Ikenna as she competes in deadly trials, she is also trying to figure out who killed her grandfather. Here is the full synopsis, it is very detailed and since I haven’t read the book yet I don’t want to misspeak The Blood Trials. I was drawn to the book by the cover and the synopsis just sealed the deal!

Buddy Read an ARC: I don’t know if I will be completing this prompt, because I don’t know very many people who review eARCS.

A Book in a Series: A Shift in Shadows by Maddox Grey, was published October 26th, 2021. Is the first book in the Lost Legacies series. We begin the store by following Nemain, a feline shapeshifter who has a dangerous and unexplainable magic secret. She ends up going on the run with a vampire while and ex, Sebastian who is a powerful warlock with an obsession. This is a fantasy romance that seems to have some interesting twists and turns.

An Audiobook: I’m not an Audiobook person in general, the exception is being on long road trips. So I think I will also be skipping this one. Just to say, Audiobooks do count as reading, it’s just not for me in my day to day reading.

A Book that is Already Published: I think I will also be using Killian Unbound for this one.

A 2022 Release: I will be reading Star Father by Charlie N. Holmberg, which is set for release on March 8th, 2022. Which is the second book in the Star Mother series. Book one is follows the birth of a new star, which is typically fatally to the mortal mother. However, Ceris survives and returns to her home village of Endwever. However, instead of the 9 months she thought it was, it’s been 700 years. She runs into Ristriel, who is a trickster, they end up traveling together and unraveling mysteries.

An Author you have read before: I am using Pandora’s Razor by Ray Strong for this one as well.

A book you requested because of the Cover: I am picking Dark Theory by Wick Welker which is set for publication on April 17th, 2022. Dark Theory follows a robot with memory problems and a thief who can’t forget. They are in a world that is plagued by radioactive pestilence, and famine. The robot and thief team up as they realize that stars are disappearing and the galaxy is unraveling.

A Hyped Book: I don’t currently have any super hyped books on my NetGalley TBR.

Pick an ARC with a Random Number Generator: I have 10 eARCS, and generated a 5 when I went to a random number generator. The 5th book on my TBR (sorted by Publication Order) is The Conqueror’s Princess by Jeanette Rose and Alice Callisto. Follows a Princess, Charlotte, who will do whatever it takes to keep her free will. However, when a Conqueror threatens the life of her Father if she doesn’t marry him. She is forced to choose between her family or her free will. They are both drawn to each other, but have to overcome both internal and external obstacles to be together, if that is what they so desire.

A Character you Relate to: I will have to what till I read these books to find out who I most relate to!

A “Read Now” Book: The majority of my eARCS are “Read Now” books, so this spaced will be filled in by one of the books I listed below.

A Book you Started and Put Down: I’m not sure what I will be doing for this one either. I don’t like to put ARCs down, because if I am given an ARC I have a responsibility to read it and review it. And since I haven’t had a NetGalley account for long, most of my ARCS are really recent. So this one is not gonna be completed by me.

We will see how I do with all of these, since I am also still participating in The Avengers Reading Initiative and Infinity War and Endgame are coming! Let me know what Readathons you are participating in in November.
