Hi! NetGalley November is still going strong, and I am slowly working my way through all of my eARCS. Unfortunately I seem to be acquiring new ones just as quickly as I review ones I currently have. sigh, such is the life I suppose, I have no self control with books.
Today I will be review Bad Moon Rising by Zoe Forward. The eARC was kindly provided by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Bad Moon Rising follows four Lycanthrope brothers, no they aren’t “werewolves” but close. And Nova who has amnesia/forcefully lost her memories. The four brothers are under the control of the British Monarchy and are charged with protecting the crown from all magical threats.
Nova when she first wakes up is sent on a hunt for Roman, the oldest brother and the leader, with a simple message and a zippo lighter. Things descend into chaos as they tend to do. It turns out that one of the brothers is dead, one is missing, and the other is with Roman. Nova and Roman come to an agreement to help each other while they search for the missing brother.
Nova, it turns out is a magical creature, but Roman is not sure what at first. When they found out she is a Lycanthrope shifter as well, Roman’s protective instincts kick in due to a war that wiped out most of the female Lycanthrope population.
The story was well written, you could tell it was a young author but not a debut. So some of the first book hiccups were already worked out. While I am sure there are stories published with similar storylines this is the first one that I have read, set in modern times, where the magical creatures are under a curse controlled by the crown. So for that breath of fresh air I applaud Forward.
We all know by this point that if there is a shirtless guy on the cover I am likely to pick it up, just for a quick read. But rarely do I get a book that just sucks me in and doesn’t want me to put it down in a Fantasy Romance at least. They are usually quick reads yes, but I tend to read them over multiple sittings due to them getting repetitive.
This didn’t happen, you had some angst, then some more angst, then some enemies to lovers, then one sacrificing themself for the good over everyone else. You remember that curse I mentioned. Roman ended up being ordered to kill Nova by the new monarch and while Roman was trying to resist, it causes him and his brothers pain. So even though he wanted to protect her they were being forced into a position where he had to choose, her or his remaining family.
Also the brothers mom is an assassin and that is just amazing, and 100% good role modeling in a fantasy world.
I am excited to dig in Forward’s back list and see what other goodies they have to author and to also see the growth. But mainly I want book two to come out quickly, I have questions and I would like some answers please.
Bye!
