Review: The Solace of Sharp Claws

Hello! Is it snowing where you are? The covers for the book I am reviewing today makes me think about snow, and where I live it is prime time of year for constant snow. I’m writing this on one of the few sunny days we probably have left for the next few months.

I drink my Buddha Blend tea today, I tried to drink a black tea the other day and just couldn’t, it was a vanilla bean black tea and I’m not sure if it was the smell or the flavor that did me in for it.

Today I am reviewing book two in the Season of Wolves series, which is a part of the Fae Guardians series. Series inception! So if you haven’t read book 1 year and plan to I would recommend doing that and then coming back and looking at this review.

I stumbled on Lana Pecherczyk, by chance and I will forever think the lord of smutty kindle unlimited page that they decided to drop Pecherczyk’s books in “you might also like” group.

The Solace of Sharp Claws, picks up a little after a Longing of Lone Wolves. Clarke and Rush have had a baby (Willow), and Rush and Thorne are still not getting along. Throne is the gung-ho type of guy that I could see running into something without a plan. Clarke then decides that according to her visions it is time to go find the second human from her world/time. Which happens to be one of her best friends, Lauren. What Clarke doesn’t tell Rush and Thorne is that Lauren is more than likely Throne’s well-blessed mate. You know leave out the little details so that the men go along with her plan, I totally support it.

They end up finding Lauren fairly quickly, about to set herself on but as you can expect, mister know it all Thorne isn’t happy with finding his mate. When all he wanted to do was find the woman that could lead him to Jasper his mentor. The plot continues from there and I read it so fast!

I love Pecherczyk’s writing, it’s your typical Fantasy romance but also has some of the traditional epic/high fantasy world building. While I preferred Rush and Clarke’s story over Thorne and Lauren, the growth that both Thorne and Lauren went through was amazing. They started out as two self-absorbed people for a lack of a better word, who were both trying to live for someone else. To a team who were living for themselves and each other.

It was good seeing you,
Kaitlyn
