Book Haul: December and January

Hi all! Today I am drinking my David’s Tea, Cherry Blossom white tea that I love. And you are gonna get to see all of the books I got for Christmas as well as the books I got in January!

Let me start off by saying it is a privilege that I was able to get this many books over the last 2 months. That being said, this is what I ask for for Christmas and my family always comes out swinging. I’ll group everything together as best as I can, by either Genre or Author. Some of these I have already read, and I will bold the titles those and italic the ones that I haven’t read yet. If you have any suggestions on where I should start please drop a comment! Or if you would like to make sure I write a review for a particular book just say so!

Katee Robert: the goddess of smut, I love her and I wanted to add more of her books to my collection:

Falcon fly by

Read: Beast, Neon Gods, and Wicked Villains Short Story Collection

Beast: is book 4 in the Wicked Villains series and my personal favorite, I reread it at the start of the year because I love Gaeton and Beast so much.

Wicked Villain Shorts: Read these shorts at the end of last year (even though there was a few that dealt with Aurora and the Zurielle’s books). Very enjoyable if you want a few extra minutes with your favorite characters.

Queen Takes Rose and The Sea Witch: are the two books I have left in this series and I can not wait!

Broderick and Abel: Are the first two books in the Sabine Valley series, Sabine Valley is where Beast comes from so I’m excited to dive into the series and see what his life before Isabelle was like.

Lastly Neon Gods and Electric Idol (Yes, I have preordered Wicked Beauty already):

Neon Gods: Is the first book in Katee’s Dark Olympus series and so far one of my Favorite Hades personifications.

Electric Idol: is book two in the Dark Olympus series and follows Eros and Psyche and I can not wait! I am buddy reading this with one of my friends next month, except a full review on this one.

Brandon Sanderson: Way of Kings, Words of Radiance and Oathbringer. I haven’t read any of the Stormlight Archives books yet. But I am 100% caught up in the Mistborn series (which I loved) so I can’t wait to dive into this series. No, I don’t know really what it is about I just know I love Sanderson and both of my Parents thought that The Way of Kings was weird, which means I will probably really enjoy it. These are the UK paperback editions. I prefer there covers and wanted them to match my Mistborn books.

John Gwynne: Malice, Valor, Ruin, and Wrath (I also have Shadow of the Gods to read). I’ve been eyeing these for a long time, I just haven’t bit the bullet. When I got gift cards for Christmas I decide I would just get the whole series and cross my fingers I enjoy them!

Justin T. Call: Master of Sorrows and Master Artificer. Two of my favorite booktubers (Frolicthroughfiction and Jadeyraereads) Have loved this series and since my reading taste aligns fairly well with theirs I grabbed them!

The Poison Prince by S. C. Emmett: I read Book 1 in the series Spring of 2021 and enjoyed it so I picked this book up from a library sale.

K.J. Sutton: Beautiful Nightmares book 4 in the Fortuna Sworn series (Pre-Order), Books 1-3 in the series were so good! I am terrified to see where book 4 takes us and which of my favorite characters are going to suffer. Also, is anyone else wonder who TF is Ollie, or is it just me?

Romance: The Love Hypothesis and Boyfriend Material. I read both of these books through my library and loved them so much I wanted a physical copy! I have Husband Material pre-ordered and I can’t wait to return to that story and those loveable goofballs.

Novellas: Breach of Peace by Daniel B. Greene, I’m interested to see if I enjoy his writing style/story telling. I enjoy some of his Booktube content but not all of it. This one was also on sale right after Christmas for $2 so I didn’t feel to bad for picking it up to taste test.

A Marvellous Light read this book. OMG I loved it and I can’t wait for book two to be out. I have a full review up, if you want to see my thoughts

Scarlett St. Clair: my follow Okie (even though she did attend OU instead of OSU), I have both A Touch of Darkness and King of Battle and Blood on my TBR for this year

The Atlas Six, I caved to the Dark Academia hype. Hopefully I enjoy this one!

The Shadow of the Wind: A Book about books, how could I not want to try this one.

Last but Not Least – Non-Fiction (NF).

I picked up the following books to help me with my Yearly reading goal of reading 1 NF every quarter that isn’t a true crime book.

Thieves of Book Row: People stealing Rare Books enough said, I’m curious

The Man Who Loved Books Too Much: Also people stealing books, so yes please

The Map Thief: Cartography theft is up next

Thunderstruck: I’m working my way through all of Erik Larson’s books and this was the next on my list

The Feather Thief: A man steals rare bird skins from the British Museum of Natural History to make fly fishing lures?? Okay, explain to me the thought process behind that one

Rewire Your Anxious Brain: Anxiety is no fun so here is my one self-help book

Victim F: This just seemed like a wild ride and I want to know what happened

The Catalogue of Shipwrecked Books: Lost books, the World’s greatest library? Intrigued. I can’t wait to dive into this one.

There you have it all of the books I picked up this month and in December with my Christmas money. I am super excited about all of these, tell me which one I should read first.

Bye Book Dragons
Kaitlyn
