Today I am going to be talking about Bad Moon Rising by Zoe Foward, which is a Fantasy Romance about an a girl who has no memory and 4 brothers who are under a curse.

So I picked this book up basically because of the cover! Hot guys with muscles showing in the Fantasy Romance section, you’re basically guaranteeing I will at least give it a try. Then! I saw the name of the series “The Crown Wolves” so I went YASSSS Werewolves…. No werewolves guys, slight disappointment if I am being honest. But you do get Lycanthropes, they just don’t shift into deadly, cute, and fluffy wolves. They do have a primal form though that seems kinda hot, I’ll update after I see more than just Roman and Nova using it, Flynn (2nd brother didn’t have a reason to use his in this book).
Character Breakdown:
Roman – Eldest Brother, leader, lycanthrope, cursed by the Queen of England to serve and protect against all magical threats.
Flynn – Second Brother, tactician, overwatch, movie star good looks
Ky – Third Brother, weapons expert. That’s all we know based off the first book, he is kind of MIA
Shane – Fourth Brother, was possessed by a demon, thought to be dead by Suicide to protect his brothers, favorite of their mother
Nova – Heroine, has amnesia, Roman’s name is tattooed on her wrist, has Shane’s lighter that was supposed to be destroyed when he died
Zadkiel – Angel, likes Roman for some reason, badass
So female Lycanthropes are very rare due to them being targeted several years prior in a war. Because without females the species will die out, which is what a lot of the humans want. The 4 brothers are bound by a curse, where they can’t threaten the ruling monarch of Britain or their handler (even thinking about harming them causes them pain). Due to this Roman feels it is part of his duty to protect any female lycanthrope that he comes across, not that he is expecting to come across any during his travels. But he is a man of honor so he won’t turn them away.
Unbeknownst to Nova (due to amnesia) she is a female lycanthrope and an Assassin! Love me some assassin’s especially women assassins. She is sent by some mysterious person to get Roman out of the subbasement of a club within a certain time frame if she wants to get her memories back. From there love and angst happen, the battle between ethics and orders, you know standard stuff.
Overall I enjoyed this book a lot! I thought it was well written and the plot and characters are interesting. The plot twist at the end (which I called) was great! And it makes you really want the second book to be out now. I will say that parts of it felt a little rushed, but that didn’t detract much from my enjoyment. If you want a quick enjoyable Fantasy Romance book, and you have a soft spot for Werewolves or Assassins I think this one might be for you.
